The Basement Show BBC 1Xtra 12/06/05

DJ Harry Love %100 live on BBC 1Xtra's 'Basement Show'
Sunday 12th June 2005

Okay, well.. the first thing I want to say is BIGUP to my boy Abilio out in Brazil for diggin this 1 out and emailing it to me! The second thing I want to say is (DESPITE THE HORRIBLE JINGLES/AUDIO BLASTS) this is one of my favorite radio mixes I ever did, and I only ever had a cd of the second hour.
Taken from BBC 1xtra's The Basement radio show, the brief is kinda simple ; play whatever you want but only play records made before the year 2000... hmmm now that's my kinda thing. I didn't really plan this mix but I had just started to burn all my old classic records & breaks to cd, so I was having the time of my life cutting up 2 copies of my 45's of certain oldies on the cdj's.
Now as for those terrible jingles of some woman saying "Harry Love
drawing for the tunes" I didn't actually hear them while I was doing the mix because I generally had my headphones on the whole time - the producer (safe stew) was triggering the sound fx & jingles. I could only laugh and shudder when I heard that lady's voice but nevertheless I think the mix came out ok - especially after 3 hours sleep!

Part 1

Part 2

Stay tuned because Mr Thing & I will be
representing The Extended Player crew on 1Xtra's 'All Star Mix' directly after Semtex's show very very soon (ie. within the next month) ..... dates will be announced here and on my myspace page as soon as confirmed.

Badbonez In-store @ Rare Kind

Harry Love. Ramson Badbones. Instore. 29/02/08

Yes indeed, this one was a banger! Going on well past the scheduled 8.30 finish by 4 hours, mixtape mayhem was well and truely brought to the shop! The evening was kicked off in fine style by DJ Manipulate who brought a sick turntablism routine to the rarekind turntables. Next up after some technical problems, Zebra Traffic's Rup barnstormed the store with a heavy showcase of new album tracks and finished in style with the anthem "King Cnut". Next up launching their new mixtape "Welkum 2 da darksyde" Harry Love and Ramson Badbones (alongside D-Molish) tore through heat such as "f**k a 9 to 5" and "Takin' Medication" to rapturous applause.
Shout out to everyone that came and passed through the shop.
